Tabby sat up and turned in her seat so that she was facing him, a small smile making its way onto her face. "Thanks, Ray." She whispered, standing up and putting her arms around him in a hug.
She knew he wasn't kidding, and it meant a lot to her that he'd look out for her like that.

Ray was startled by the hug. timidly, he wrapped an arm around her, then brought the other one. He smiled a little.
"No prob, Tabs," he said; "Now, I think you should change," he said, breaking the hug by taking a step back; "Don't want you getting sick on me. Then who will I skip school with?" he gave her a reassuring smile. But he was thinking, Pietro's just an ass ready for the kicking.

Tabby laughed lightly as she stepped away from him, pulling the blanket closer around herself. "Hmm...your girlfriend, perhaps?" She questioned with a slight smirk, then glanced out the door into the hallway again.
"You know, it's taking them an awful long time to get back here." Tabby mused suspiciously, turning back to him, grinning. "Think they got lost?"

Ray shrugged; "I dunno, Paige is a good girl," he said with a smirk; "Lost? Hmmm, I dunno," he said, poking his head out of the doorway and looking around. Looking back at Tabby with a confused expression; "Ya think they did? I dunno, maybe Sam made her go back to bed," he joked; "I swear that dude hates me now."

"Are you implying I'm not a good girl?" Tabby asked, pretending to sound hurt; then she smirked. "Why? What'd ya do now?" She asked, eyeing him suspiously.
Tabby sniffed again and sat back down; her nose was already starting to run...not a good sign. She sighed, resting her head on her hands as she waited for an answer.

"No, no, didn't say that at all!" Ray said; "You're just... wilder is all. Paige balances me out," he then shrugged; "I dunno. I am dating his sister. Plus, Sam's up to date on the stuff I'm done... he doesn't know why, But I doubt those details matter. Oh well," he said finally; "Paige likes me and that's all I care about," he laughed, but it was stopped mid-way by a yawn.

"Uh-huh." Tabby smirked, then frowned at what he said next. "Oh." Was all she could think to say. No wonder Sam's so protective.
Tabitha nodded, then yawned as well. With a quick glance at the clock, she saw that it was close to 3:30. Sighing, she turned back to Ray. "You gonna wait for 'em?"
((OOC: Uh, I lost track of the time a while back...So I'm guessing, here. Lol.))

"Eh," Ray said, shrugging as he too, looked at the clock. "I should," she said slowly, but he yawned again.
"Ah hell, I'm gonna go to bed soon," he said, rubbing his eyes. He'd give them five minutes, then he was gone.

Tabby nodded, sniffing again; she was going to be sick tomorrow, she just knew it. "Yeah..." She trailed off, her arms sliding down to the table as she rested her head on them again; she closed her eyes.
"I was just gonna make sure Sam was ok. He kinda cannonballed into us on the beach...and then again after he brought me up here." Tabby sighed, her thoughts now drifting back to Pietro.

"Oh," Ray said, swaying a little. He leaned against the counter, then saw the hasbrowns. With a sigh, he got out surranwrap, wrapped them up, and stuck them in the fridge.
"...Betcha that was a buzzkill..." he mumbled, "Or maybe it was a good thing?" he really couldn't say. He didn't really know. Ray had been umpteen feet above that incident.

Tabby stayed quiet, thinking. Yes, Sam had bad timing, but things had started to go downhill a little before he came cannonballing over the cliff. So was it a good thing he showed up when he did?
She didn't know.
Opening her eyes, she glanced over at Ray who seemed like he could literally pass out any second. "Maybe..." She trailed off again, her eyes wandering to the bag of chocolates a few feet from her on the table.
If Sam hadn't have almost crashed into them when he did, then who knows what would have happened. Pietro seemed angry and hurt when she practically shoved him away, sure, but would he have reacted differently if Sam weren't there?
She really didn't know.

Ray knew he'd gotten her thinking. Really, he was just an advocate for free-thought. He just took it upon himself to invoke it. Through his hooded eyes he watched her think, practically seeing the cogs and wheels turning inside her head, and he wondered if she had come up short by just answering with a "maybe".
"Hey, maybe sleep will help," he offered; "Give ya a while to, ya know, forget about it and then go over it again."

Tabby nodded, then shoved her chair back and stood up. "Yeah, I guess." She muttered, grabbing the bag of chocolates from the table and holding them close as she walked over to the door.
Tabitha stopped just shy of the hallway though, and turned back to Ray. "Could you tell Sam I said thanks for the lift up here?" She asked, then gave him a small smile.
"And uh, thanks again, Ray." That was the last thing she said before she disappeared into the hallway and made her way up to her room. All she wanted to do was get out of her wet clothes and crawl into bed.
Maybe Ray was right, sleeping on it might help.
