Nate entered the mansion looking around, it was pretty big. Not to mention it seemed pretty extravigant and over the top for a school. Never the less, he could feel the power of this place and the awe it instilled.
He shifted the weight of his army green duffle bag, keeping an eye and mind on his surrounding. He hoped she was here now, it had been a long time since he'd seen Jean and he missed his cousin alot over the past several years. He also hoped this Charles Xavier would accept him into this school, especially with Nate's history involving schooling. He simply sighed "well I'm here, what now?"

Scott came in from his 'conversation' with Emma. He shook his head and he walked to the main staircase, God was definitely testing him because having her in the house was going to be a trial. He stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing a strange teen in the foyer. Great...another one, wonder if the Prof'll ever run out of rooms. He couldn't help it, at the rate the student population was growing it was only a matter of time before they'd have to rennovate to create more dorms.
Putting on a pleasant face(not easy after what happened outside)he greeted the mutant(why else would they be at the mansion if they weren't?)"Hey, can I help you with something?"

Nate nodded "ya hi, name's Nate. I'm looking for Jean Grey" he said. Without reading Scott's mind he had a feeling he knew her. "Was also hopin I could join the school, get some help with my powers. Maybe even help you guys a little, I got a feeling after the incident with Apocalypse you're looking for 'new recruits'." Nate smiled "providing the professor hasn't run out of rooms"

The guy was looking for Jean? Why would a person come looking for Jean...his Jean?
" I'm Scott Summers. Jean's visiting her family right now, haven't gotten word when she plans on getting back," Scott replied. He felt bad about that too, as her boyfriend he should know when she was getting back, should be spending hours on the phone talking with her...the fact that he didn't either meant both were too busy(Jean hadn't really called much either)or that he was officially a sucky boyfriend. He really wanted to believe it was the latter.
"We should still have a room or two...the Prof's probably up in his office, I could take you up there if you like."

"Family huh?" he thought about them, not having seen any of his family in some years. "well I wouldn't worry, Jean has always been her own woman. " He said reassuring Scott, having read his mind a little. Nate was going to keep an eye on this guy, Jean was like a sister to him after all. Though he seemed like a pretty decent guy, maybe he had nothing to worry about. "But ya a room sounds good for now. Been travelling quite a bit, be nice to get a load off."

"I hear ya," Scott responded and started to head up the stairs. "Let's see if we can't find a room for you." He went down a mental list of the rooms and their occupants....Jamie's was a single but he didn't want to wish that experience on the guy, Jamie would drive the guy away. "So...how do you know Jean," Scott asked, trying to make conversation.

"Oh me and Jean go waaay back" he said with a big smile. He remebered all the good times they'd had together as kids. "She's my cousin, but she's almost like a lil sister. Though we're only about a year apart. Haven't seen her in so long though, not since well I saw her on the tv during that whole Apocalypse ordeal. Other than that wow I unno it's been awhile since we seen eachother in person." He said thinking about it carefully, when was the last time? He'd gotten so caught up with everything time had almost seemed to fly.

Scott's heart began to race at the first half of Nate's response but it slowed with the pronouncement that they were cousins. He had been worried for a bit that he might be an old flame, and that would not have been good at all. He could handle an old flame like Duncan living in the same town but he wouldn't have been able to stand having one living under the same roof as himself. "Cousins," Scott chuckled, "So are you a telepath too?" He lead Nate down the dormitory halls, doing a mental checklist as he passed each door.

"Yup" he spoke to him telepathically and smirked. "Ya I've had that misunderstanding happen a couple times. Not like an insult by far, just weird. But like I said she's like a lil sister to me so careful where that mind takes you, boyfriend or not" He chuckled as his thoughts went to his old friend with the broken ribs. "I can be pretty protective of her, probably cause she's the only one in my life who ever seemed to get me."

Emma came out, smiling at the two men after her time at the pool. She noticed Scott and thought immediately that he hated her. She sort of just smiled, nodded and started walking on.

A protective cousin...great. That's just what Scott needed to complicate his already overly complicated life. Scott noticed Emma and turned to Nate when she'd walked past without saying anything. "That's Emma, she's new too." Stopping in front of a door he said, "This one should be vacant."
He pushed open the door and nodded upon seeing that the room lacked any dirty laundry or posters, "Yep, vacant. The Prof's office is down the hall," he shook a thumb in the general direction. "If you get lost don't hesitate to stop and ask directions, most of us know where everything is."

Emma turned back around when she heard her name and that Nate was new. "You're new here?" she asked Nate suprised. She wondered if a new person, like her, were here, he/she might be a bit different from the uptight X-men...

Nate nodded "cool, thanks" he said to Scott. Next he looked at Emma "ya, my name's Nate, and if all the women here are as beautiful as you then I should've come sooner." He smirked and kissed her hand softly. "You have no idea how different..." his voice entered her mind via telepathy and winked.

Nate just smiled charmingly, looking deep into her eyes "and then some..." He gave her a brief but noticeable moment of pleasure with his mind. "Maybe we should get better aquainted with this place together, both of us being new and all. I generally prefer to be alone, but no reason you can come with me. Be alone together..."
