Scott tried the door handle and finding it locked he placed his key in the keyhole and turned. His car was safely in the garage(although it now needed to make a stop by the autoshop to replace the smashed window) and he hoped no one had noticed his absence. Three days was a long time to be gone without warning and he had spent the entire ride home practicing a lie to cover his tracks...which wasn't going to be easy to pull off. Scott didn't have a history of running off without letting the Prof know in advance or calling him from the road and although he was 18, a legal adult, he doubted the Professor worried any less about his whereabouts.
He quietly pushed open the door and found the foyer blissfully absent of people. Thank God, he thought. Scott had to fight off an urge to push his glasses off the end of his nose and sneek a peek at what the Mansion really looked like when it wasn't a red wash. He kept his glasses firmly in place, hurrying up the stairs. After all, there was a time and place for everything.
Encountering no one Scott rushed to the upstairs bathroom and locked himself inside. In one swift motion he pulled off his glasses and stared at the stranger in the mirror. He almost couldn't believe it as he brought his hands up to his face, really making sure it was him. A grin broke out across his face as his blue eyes sparkled with joy. Scott stood at the mirror staring for quite some time before deciding to place his shades back on his nose and exiting the bathroom.
