Roberto dropped his backpack on the floor, and slumped down on the couch. He wondered if anyone had heard about the dance and if they were thinking about going. He turned on the TV and waited for the others to show up, so he could ask them.

Rahne walked into the livingroom with half an apple in one hand, most of the apple in her mouth, her book bag over her shoulder and a hot pink flyer in her other hand. She attempted to waved at Roberto before setting her bag down and swallowing.
"Hey." She greeted and slipped into the arm chair. Thinking back she couldn't remember running into Roberto in the two days since she'd come back, and the begged the question 'had he even heard she was back?' With Roberto it was probably possible he had known and simply chose not to search the mansion for her. He was never very openly friendly, but they had joked around on the retreat to the redwood forest.
"How've yah been?" The Scottish teen questioned and leaned her head sideways as she took another bite of the apple.

Roberto turned around, and did a double-take when he saw who it was. Rahne was back. Why hadn't anyone told him this? She was one of the few who he had started to get to know, before she was pulled from the Institute. He had almost forgotten about her, and her she was now, casually sitting down in a chair as if she had never left.
Roberto's face scrunched up in confusion as he thought about what to do. He noticed she had a pink flyer in her hands, so she already knew about the dance.
Roberto started to have a small panic attack. He hoped that Rahne wouldn't ask him to go to the dance; he wasn't ready. Besides, he wouldn't know how Jubilee would feel if he accepted without giving her a chance, considering they hadn't talked about it yet.
"I'm ok," he answered as calmy as possible, despite all the thoughts that were racing through his head, "How're you? How was...where did you go?"

"Aye'm good, home, Scotland... boring." Rahne answered with a weak smile. "Aye'm sure it would'a been fun if Aye wasn' forced there agains' maye own will." She continued and rolled her eyes before taking another bite of the apple.
"Home is great; but as much as Aye love bein' there... Aye dunnu. It just feels like yer doin' nothing once you've been here... Aye wasn' even allowed to use maye powers!" The brunette complained and shrugged it off. "It was no big deal though, jus' maye parents lookin' out fer me." She decided and looked over at him with a grin.
"Did ye get into the sugar, or is there a ghost behind me?" The teen asked with a smaller smile. Her powers enabled her to smell fear, anger, panic, any strong or urgent emotion really.

"Huh?" Roberto asked, processing Rahne's question. Sugar? Roberto was always into the sugar, but that wasn't his reason for being so off. Roberto was the type of person who liked his life to be somewhat planned out, with little room for improvising. Rahne showing back up was something he hadn't prepared himself for at all, so his brain went into panic mode.
"You haven't missed much around here..." he said grumpily, "I bet Scotland was real exciting and you're just not sharing with me." He crossed his arms in mock anger, as his brain started to regain control of the situation.

"Fihne, avoid the question, see if Aye care." Rahne replied and stuck her tongue out at him before snapping her head in another direction and sticking her nose up in the air. "Aye didn' wanna talk ta ye anyway." She joked and looked back at him.
"Aye missed a lot ye little liar." She replied with a weak smile. "The Apocylpse, not much huh? We do get TV in Scotland ye know."

"Oh," Roberto answered innocently, giving her the most adorable look he could manage, "How could you call me a liar?"

"Because; ye referred to the Apocylpse, Xavier almos' dyin', a bunch of us finally gettin' the chance ta figh', and Jamie goin' psycho man on us as not much." She replied and arched an eyebrow at him.
"Therefore ye are a," Rahne paused and half transformed to enable herself to leap from the chair to the couch, pinning him to the cushions. "Liar." She concluded and transformed back.

"Oh," he said even more innocently, "Hey no powers!"
He laughed and pushed her off, "Well it seemed like nothing to me," he added.

"Oh well in that case Aye sugges' ye come outta yer room more of'en." Rahne replied from her new spot on the floor.
The teen pulled her flyer off the coffee table and glanced at it undecidedly. "I'm guessin' this seems like nothin' to huh?" She asked and dropped onto her back on the floor.

Roberto eyed the pink sheet of paper warily, deciding how to treat the subject of the dance.
"Yes it does," he answered very matter-of-factly, "Are you planning on going?"

"A'course aye am." Rahne replied with a smile. Whether or not she ended up getting a date to dances never really phased her. If she ended up asking someone it would be because she really wanted to spend the evening with them, but if she ended up going alone she could more comfortably dance with more people. Unless someone particular said yes, she usually preferred going stag.
"Are ye goin'?" She questioned and sat up to glance at him.

"Depends on who's askin'," he answered with a lopsided grin. That was what it was going to come down to, because Roberto didn't really consider himself a school dance kind of guy.
He was more into the club hopping scene, and things of that nature. In fact, he could only remember one other time he had gone to a school dance, and that had been in the sixth grade.

"Hey guys, what up?" Jubilee said sarcastically as she entered the room. She looked at Rahne and smiled. She had never really gotten to know her very well, but she seemed nice enough. She took a seat next to Roberto, and noticed that Rahne was holding a pink piece of paper. "Whats that??" she asked looking the paper, fully aware of what the answer was. She gave it a once over to pretend like she had no clue what it was, "Hmmmm Sadie Hawkins huh?"
She smiled at Roberto. She really wanted to ask him...but for some reason she was nervous. She hadn't felt this way in a long time, usually nothing fazed her. But this was different, this dance was really important to her, she couldn't explain why, it just was. She would ask him....eventually.

Roberto's face lit up when Jubilee entered the room. The memories of their mall escapade were fresh in his mind, and although they could have been killed, he had a great time with her.
"Oh yeah, the dance..." Roberto said, his smile fading slightly. He looked between Rahne and Jubilee, and realized that the three of them had never been alone in the same room before. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, not sure how to handle the situation.
