Roberto huffed angrily as he wandered into the Living Room. He flopped down on the sofa and flicked on the tv. One of the girls must have been watching it last because it was switched to Women's Entertainment. Against his better judgement he started to watch the cheesy romance that was playing. The man on screen was professing his undying love for a young blond woman who was crying. Roberto sighed. He hadn't been in a relationship in a looong time and it was starting to get to him. 'Man it would be embarrasing if one of the guys saw this,' he thought, although he made no effort to change the channel and continued to watch.

Ray was humming as he advanced towards the living roo mat a casual pace, intent on getting a hollowed-out book to dispose of it. But when he heard the TV, and saw the flickering light against the dim hallway, he slowed considerably and crept the rest of the way/ Peering around, he saw that the TV was on some chick flick. The back of the couch was to him, and he couldn't see who it was. Figuring it was Amara, or possibly Tabby, maybe even Paige or X, Ray decided to surprise them.
Raising his hands, he crossed the gap from door to couch, stealth training finally being put to good use. He made it to the couch and cried out "HAHA! GOTCHA!" before diving over.
Then he fell onto the floor, yelping in surprise and embarassment.
It was definitely not a chick.

"AHH! What do you think you're doing?!!!!" Roberto yelled at Ray, before grabbing the remote and changing the channel as quickly as he could. He already knew that the damage was done though, Ray had seen everything. How was he going to live this down? He had been perfecting his tough guy image for so long and now it was all for nothing. He decided to play it cool anyways, maybe Ray would cooperate...

But Ray's embarassment was forgotten as he broke down laughing, sprawled out on the floor and then holding his sides. This was too good.
"Ah man, Da Costa! This is priceless!" Ray said through his laughter; "Holy crap...!"
He calmed then, and sat up, wiping his eyes; "And here I thought it was Amara or Boom watching TV!" he said with a smirk; "But it was you!"

"What are you talking about? I was just watching...ummm...." Roberto stalled looking at the TV screen to see what he had turned it to, "Antiques Roadshow." It would have to do, anything was better than Women's Entertainment. Anything.

Ray's eyebrow quirked upward as he gave Roberto a "yeah right" look; "Sure, and that one blonde was crying because her spoon was only worth two bucks," he said sarcastically; "own up to it man, you watch chick flicks!"

Ray wasn't making this easy for Roberto, and he had to stop this from spreading around the Institute. "Hey man, you'll stay out of my business if ya know what's good for you! I was just flipping channels and that blonde chick was hot. If I hear you tell anybody about this, then we are going to have some serious problems," Roberto stood up from the couch and advanced towards Ray. Even though he the younger mutant he was about half an inch taller than Ray and he used that to his advantage.

Ray eyed him, unphased. If he could hold his own in front of Wanda, Roberto was nothing. He crossed his arms, noting how he technically still had the power because Roberto was being vain about his image. Ray wasn't even a gossiper. And even though this was the truth, Roberto did watch chick flicks, he still wouldn't talk about it because there were more important things to talk about. But still, he was content knowing he had power of the cocky Mutant.
"Come on, Da Costa," Ray said; "Like that's scary." he implied Roberto's height with a quick overlook.

"Grrr...I'm serious man, I know we don't talk a lot or anything, but I don't back down on threats. Maybe it'd be best if you forget this whole thing ever happened..." Roberto's voice trailed off. It was really important to him that Ray didn't tell anyone, he was worried if the others found out he watched chick flicks once in a while it would make him look like a sissy. He looked genuinely scared, and as soon as he realized this he fought to correct it, balling his hands into fists, and furrowing his brow angrily. Fear made you weak. Roberto wasn't weak.

Ray saw the flash of fear, and took it like a fish to bait; "What's got ya scared, De Costa?" he asked in a surprisingly mannerly tone; "I mean, it's okay to be afraid..." but then he just sounded overly sympathetic, and he knew it would strike a nerve.
To be honest, Roberto and he didn't talk often for a reason. They were both hotheads and quick to anger, plus, they belonged to different scenes. It was just too easy for the two of them to butt heads, and this was no exception.
But when Roberto balled his hands into fists, Ray regropued his thoughts. Was Roberto actually willing to hit him? Well, if he did, he'd regret it.

"I don't have time for this!" Roberto said storming past Ray. When he reached the door way he turned to say one last thing, "By the way, don't ever talk to me like that again." His eyes flashed dangeroulsy before he exited the room. It was then that he decided the best plan would be to avoid Ray if he could. There was no telling what he would do if he was alone in the same room with him. He hated it when people treated him like a little kid, just like the way Ray had even if he was just kidding around.

Ray blinked in confusion, watching Roberto storm off; "Sheesh, he's about as uptight as Scott," Ray muttered as he headed for the couch and plopped down to take Roberto's abandoned spot. Grabbing the remote he changed it to spike, half-wondering if Roberto had just gone to get reinforcements.
