The kitchen was surprisingly empty for being mid-afternoon. Scott's stomach rumbled once more, louder than it had as he had made his excuse to Ray. "Shut up, I'm gonna feed you alright?" Scott slapped a hand to his forehead. "Great, I'm talking to my stomach...too much stress apparently."
What was a guy to eat? Scott opened up the fridge and viewed the contents. Multiple things had been labeled "Do Not Touch Under Penalty of DEATH, Property of..." Eh, he wasn't really up for real food anyways. He closed the door to the fridge and opened the freezer door. There sat a gallon of vanilla icecream. "Score!"
Scott took the ice cream out of the freezer and served himself up a bowl, looking inside the cupboards he found some oreos which he crumbled on top of the ice cream. "Oreo Sundae, Can life get better. I would like to submit that it cannot!"
He put the ice cream back in the freezer and then sat down to enjoy his ice cream. The first bite was like heaven to his hungry stomach.

Tabby was watching TV when her stomach starting rumbling, indicating she was hungry. So, once a commercial came on, she stood up and headed toward the kitchen.
She walked in and noticed Scott sitting at the table with a bowl of ice cream and she stopped for a second, wondering if she could just back out of the room without being noticed. Then her stomach rumbled again.
Sighing, Tabby made her way over to the fridge and grabbed above mentioned ice cream out of the freezer. After dipping herself some, she put it away again and sat down opposite Scott and gave him a small smile. "Hey Scott."

Scott looked up as soon as he heard someone enter the room. Tabitha, who looked reluctant to come in but apparently her stomach also ran the roost at times as she got herself a bowl and gave a greeting. Scott ate another spoonful before replying. "Hey, Tabitha." He watched her sitting there innocently eating her ice cream and figured he had her cornered. No time like the present to dredge up the mysteries of the past.
"Did you know I got my car back from the impound?" He ate another spoonful, grateful for it's sugary goodness. "You'll never believe where the guy said they picked it up from. In fact, I'm not even going to wait for you to guess because it's just so crazy...He said they got it from inside the entrance to the mall. As in someone drove it through the front doors and put it into park."

Tabby almost choked as she took a bite of her ice cream, but covered it up by clearing her throat. Uh-oh. She thought, taking another bite, more slowly this time. I knew I should've turned around when she had the chance...
"Oh really?" Tabby asked in mock-shock. "Inside the mall? Imagine that." She said, looking down at her ice cream and suppressing a laugh.
She was so busted.

Scott watched as Tabitha sputtered on her ice cream. It's her, Scott thought, I knew it! Okay, easy, Shades. It's not a confession, and you don't have any real proof. "I know, imagine. I can't think of anyone who would have such blatant disregard of private property".
He set down his spoon and looked her in what he hoped she could tell was the eyes. "If you could tell whoever drove my car through the mall doors to keep their hands off from now on it would be greatly appreciated. Make sure they know that my car is for my own personal use, that's why we have the X-van, for those people who cannot afford their own ride. Also, if said person does this ever again they will be paying for the damages. My car isn't a junker like Lance's."
He stuck one of the final spoonfuls of ice cream in his mouth.

Tabby stared determidly back at Scott with a look on her face that clearly said she wasn't actually listening to a word he was saying. However, she decided to play along, so she sobered up quickly, pretending to care about his little speech on "personal property". Then, when he was finished, she dropped her spoon in her bowl and pointed a finger at him.
"You are exactly right!" Tabby said, nodding again to prove a point. She stared into his eyes, or, his glasses, with the most serious look she could muster, then said. "You're car isn't a junker like Lance's." Then she stood up, laughing.
After placing her bowl in the sink, she turned back to him. "Oh! And it turns better, too." She added before making a dash for the door, knowing she'd just given herself away; however, she kind of doubted he'd try to stop her escape.

"I knew it was you," Scott yelled, slamming his bowl down on the table, the melted ice cream at the bottom splashing up into his face and leaving spots on his glasses. "Just great," he muttered.
He brought the bowl over to the sink and carefully rinsed it out so not a speck of ice cream remained. He didn't know why he felt it necessary to rinse out a bowl to the extent that it might as well be washed, it was just one of his habits. Setting the bowl to the side Scott went about washing his face, wiping it on his shirt sleeve. He sighed, closing his eyes and taking off his glasses to run them under the warm water, using his fingers to carefully rub off any sticky ice cream.
Everything seemed so much easier when he had his eyes closed, at least it did in the every day context, in battle it was stressful. But here, rinsing his glasses he felt calm. He instinctively reached for the faucet and turned if off with the ease of years in this same kitchen...or one very similar. A reach down to the left and his hand grasped a hand towel, which he used to wipe his glasses dry. Confident that all was as it should be Scott placed the glasses back on his face, bringing himself back into a world of red.

Tabby snickered to herself as she left the room. Stopping just outside the door, she debated on going back to the living room or doing something else. The water had stopped running and she figured she needed to move soon, before Scott decided to come after her.
Shaking her head, she started off toward the living room again. No one else had been in there earlier, but with all the people around the place, it was hard to tell where anyone was at any given time.
