Ray blinked, smirking; "Come on," he said, absently taking her hand in his and leading her back down through the halls. Eventually, he led her to another elevator. They road it up, and as they did, Ray said; "It's something Uber cool. At least, for me it is," he added with a shrug.
When the doors opened, it revealed the control room and observation deck for the Danger Room. The Danger Room itself was dark, but the deck was alive with mechanical andtechnical activity, as if someone had just been using it. This didn't worry Ray much. He dropped in all the time.
"This is the control deck for the Danger Room," he explained, leading Paige in. "Where the real training happens."

She looked around with a small smile. "Cool." She said quietly, paying more attention to their hands than the room infront of them, for a while.
Paige actually looked around the room and gave it a quizzical look. "Training? What kind of training, whats it do?" She questioned suspicously and gazed aroudn at all the different buttons and levers.

Ray smirked and took her to the front, flipping a switch to turn on the lights and reveal the large room; "It's supposed to help us figure out our powers," he explained; "It puts you in different situations, places, times, with different adversaries and that sort of stuff," He looked at her; "It's hard at first, but once you get a feel for it, and the teachers get a feel for what you can do, then it starts to payoff."
He knew they were holding hands. He just hadn't let go. He didn't want to. "I uh... I'd show you some stuff, but there isn't anyone down there training and I don't want to waste supplies or risk breaking anything!" he finished, laughing awkwardly. then, he looked at her. Just studying, remembering....
Ray had a good photographic memory. It's how he got along so well at the Institute, and how he ketp up with so many people coming in and out of his life. Right now, he wasn't about to even forget one thing about Paige. Then he looked away as quickly as he had, coughing again.
"I'd show you the Room itself, but if Sam found out, I'd wake up dead," he said with yet another one of his light laughs.

Paige examined the rooms every detail, different adversaries... This place was really high tech... She smiled at the thought of controlling and possibly advancing her powers. "No, don't wanna break anything..." Paige agreed almost absent mindedly as she looked around at the strange walls and the hinges on them.
"This is great." She said softly, and looked back at Ray to find him staring at her, studying her. She felt her face growing hot, and then he looked away and coughed nervously.
Paige bit her lip. "Sam's not that bad, but to avoid your tragic death why don't we just stay up here."

Rya smiled, then he let go of her hand to retrieve two spinny chairs; "Sure thing," he said, offering her a seat; "Hold on one second...."
He went back towards the door, then took a right to a small closet. Inside was a small cooler, where there was water bottles, and energy drinks, plus a few sodas.
"Do you want a water, energy drink, or soda?" Ray called.

"Any sprite?" She questioned and tried to glance over his shoulder, but lazily flopped down into a spinny chair. She grinned and scooted away from the controls far enough so they wouldn't interfere with her fun, and then began to spin around in circles.
Paige had sort of figured spinning around in a chair wasn't exactly good Danger Room Control Deck behavior, but she wasn't doing anyone any harm.

"Yeah!" Ray repleid, grabbing the afore mentioned drink. He scanned the stockpile for one of "his" drinks, normally gatorades with added electrolites. he had to have them like that. Somehow the electrolites balanced out his body's functions and allowed him to enjoy actually drinking something. Relieved he saw a green one in the back with a black BZKR written on the label, and he grabbed it.
Straightening up Ray kicked the fridge door then the closet door closed, and he saw Paige spinning around. He smiled, remembering how he had done the same thing. He approached her, setting the drinks down on the table. he waited, and grabbed the arms of the chair from the back in one quick move, stopping her. Amazed he succeeded, he let go, laughing.
"Holy crap I can't beleive I did that!" he said, retrieving the drink. Smiling, he held her sprite out to her.

Paige yelped at the sudden lurch and grabbed the arms of the chair just ahead of his hands. The teen leaned her head back ountil she could see Ray's face and gave him a mock pout, but he had soda and all was forgiven.
She turned the chair around to face him and took the soda with an eyebrow raised. "Nor can I." She replied and opened the soda. "So why doesn't Sam want me down there?" The glassy mutant questioned and waved a hand at the window above the danger room. "Or why exactly didn't he want me to see this place? I mean its fully equipped with soda and spinny chairs." She added the last part on with a playful shrug and sipped the sprite she'd been given.

Rya sat down in his own seat, taking a drink of his gatorade before continuing; "Well... last time I showed someone this place, someone wanted to try it out," he exlpained; "X's crush, Alex. I hit a button and some stuffpopped up, and he got knocked around." He shrugged; "I mean, he knew the risks. I was only doing it because he asked for it," he paused, looking out the window; "Sam thinks I'm just a loose cannon," he said with a little laugh; "But eh, I dunno," he shrugged, looking at her with a small grin; "I think the real reason is it's just you an' me. He thinks I don't have any respect for nobody," he said sarcastically; "I remember my mom enough to know how to treat girls."

"Seems that way." Paige replied slyly to his comment about knowing how to treat girls. She sipped the sprite in her hands beforing capping it and twirling away from him.
"So, while I'm away being bored out of my mind in kentucky Sam's here living it up with... a danger room? That boys got some splainin' tah do!" She ranted on in a chipper tone and continued to twirl around the room.
"If I fall off this chair, will I crack in half?" She pondered in a rather serious tone in contrast to her last comment. "My skin looks like glass, and feels like glass. Thank god my hairs still got a... an almost hair like texture to it."

Ray watched spin, having though the same thing. He wasn't too sure about if he should answer or not, but he couldn't stop himself.
"Well, if it's just your skin, then the glass is probably pretty thick compared to most glass stuff. And if it is, I don't think you would..." he paused; "It's still a pretty cool trick, though," he added with a light laugh.
"What's it like in Kentucky?" he asked suddely.

((OOC: *Wracks brain for memories* What was it like in Kentucky...))
"Thanks." Paige stopped spinning to have some more soda.
"I guess in all truth its pretty nice. Quite a few horses, most likely because of that stupid derby. No offense if yah like races and stuff, but I don't see the point of running a horse and pumping it full of fake energy until its to beat to take another step. Plus its not just the horses getting hurt, people've had quite a few injuries in those things." She tried to focus more on home.
"Home's nice though, good food. Real, homecooked unartificially-frozen food." She joked and sent a smile his way. "Not that I don't prefer the other stuff, but homecooked is nice once in a while."

Ray paused to drink his gatorade before replying; "I don't know what to think about the derby, never really thought about it," he said; "GUess it ain't fair for the horses, but I mean, life's just one giant derby if ya look at it..." he voice trailed off as he thought, then looking at her he smiled; "Home cooked food, huh? That sounds reeeeeeeeaaallly good."
It had been a while since he had had a home-cooked meal. Even Ororo had been backing off from cooking, and that meant the X-kids were fending for themselves and duking it out in the pantries over campbell's chicken noodle soup or pizza in the freezer. Thank God Ray had a very stable diet that no one else touched. He laughed inwardly at that.

"Yeah, it is." She assured him. "But I hate to cook, and never learned... mom was making hashbrowns when Xavier showed up..." The teen pouted. "I missed hashbrowns..."
"Aw well, I found something here that makes up for hashbrowns." She grinned at him and sipped the sprite again.

"Hey, I can make hashbrowns," Ray offered; "I'm a little rusty, but I can make 'em!" He paused then; "So yeah Xavier came to your house? That must have been cool. I met him when I got here, that was interesting..." he didn't mention his second thoughts about the Professor, feeling he wouldn't want to scare Page off with his hair-brained theories.
