Ray shifted from foot to foot anxiously, waiting in the foyer for Paige. He looked down at his shirt, wondering he should have better took a crack at "dressing up". He really hadn't; just a nice T-sihrt and a longsleeve shrt underneath it, and blue-jeans that were in decent condition. he still wore his Jesus Shoes... he wiggled his toes at the thought, then looked back up. He knew it took girls a while to get ready, and he was impatient because he was nervous, but still! He was ready to get this date going, even though they had time, he didn't want to risk wasting a moment where they could be having fun.
Her first date... Ray thought absently. He had to make this one good, no great.
"No, better than great," he whispered; "Fun."

After about fifteen minutes of trying to fix a problem with her hair that wasn't actually their, Paige realized she was gonna be late. The teen huffed at her reflection and scrunched her nose up. She thank god the mutation hadn't acted up, even if Ray thoght it was cool.
But no, her skin and hair remained their normal textures. The white babydoll T-shirt wasn't slipping around above a glassy torso. The dark, flared blue jeans weren't ripping about metallic legs. Most importantly her long blonde hair wasn't about to burn to death the first thing it touched. She had left her hair down, and barely curled a single piece on each side.
She passed by Sam's door and thought about knocking on it to say goodbye, but decided against it and made her way down the stairs. She didn't want Sam trying to talk her out of this, or following them.
"Hey!" Paige called over with a smile when she reached the bottom and a glance a the clock, six minutes late. "Sorry I'm late." She apologized and made her way over. Ray looked great, and she was extremely glad she'd decided against a dress or skirt. She wasn't over dressed, and didn't think she was under dressed.

Ray looked at her and smiled. She looked gorgeous, as always. It took him a moment to remember to speak; "It's no big deal," he said.
"So, I figured we'd take my bike to the theatre..." he said casually as he held the door open for her and they exitted the mansion; "That cool with you? I mean I can bum a car if you think it'd be scary but I'm better at controlling the bike!" he added with a laugh.
He was a good driver no matter what he drove, he knew, but he loved his bike and greatly favored it over everything else.

Paige bit her lip at his staring and offered a nervous smile.
"Thanks." She said shyly, and walked out the open door, already blushing two minutes into the date.
"Bike?" She questioned and turned around with an expression of excitement and nervousness. "Yeah, I mean no!" She laughed a little and sighed. "The bike's fine." The nervous teen corrected herself. Ray was going to think she was nuts, if she didn't remember how to form full sensible sentences soon.

Ray laughed quietly; "Don't be nervous," he said; "This is gonna be fun, you'll see!" he said, taking her hand and running off to the garage.
They got there and Ray flicked on the lights, proudly motioning to the bike that was parked next to Logan's. Sleek and black, it was thinner than Logans, but it could still hold four people (goofing off one day with friends had proved this to be a fact).
"There she is," he said, opening the door with another flick of a switch.
He walked over, getting on and kicking the kickstand back. He held a helmet, and asked; "Need one?"
He rarely road with one. It just wasn't a thing he did.

Paige thought about the helmet for a little. Her and Sam had helmets at home much like the one he held, helmets for the fourwheelers, and they had long been gathering dust and cobwebs. "Nah." She decided with a shake of her head.
Paige sat down behind him and looked out into the dark night. Getting to the actual movie was going to be fun all on its own.

Rya smirked, tossing the helmet aside before bringing the bike to life. Pretty soon they had fled the protective gates of the institute, and the night was somehow one of liberation. Ray sped down the road, cutting corners and taking back alleys to add to the excitement.
He finally made it to the heart of Bayville, and then, to the theatre. He parked the bike some ways towards the back, not wanting his bike to get knocked by cars trying to beat out other ones. He let Paige get off before kicking the stand and getting off himself. He shivered as there came a breeze, and then blushed a little afterwards.
"Ready?" he asked her, holding out his hand.

"Mmm." Paige replied softly and took his hand. "How long have you had the bike?" Se questioned, cautiously lacing her fingers with his. "Because unless you just got it tonight you're in trouble, how come we havn't done that before?" She joked and smiled at him.

Ray laughed uneasily; "I've had 'er a couple years," he admitted; "But... yeah," he blushed as he felt her fingers lace with his, slightly down she'd beat him to it. "I usually take her out when I need a quick qetaway. Plus, I don't have to fight for a seat in one of the cars," he added.
They approached the booth and Ray purchased their tickets; "Want anything to drink or eat?" he asked once they'd gotten inside.

"That must be nice." Paige commented, remembering her first ride to school in the van, and she'd thought home was crowded... For some reason nobody waited for the bus, and though Paige hoped it was just because they preferred the cars, she had a feeling that wasn't the only reason.
"Popcorn and a Mountain Dew?" She suggested with a smile. They were going for coffee afterwards, but popcorn and no drink never turned out well.

Ray nodded, and they got their food and drinks. He stuck with a box of twizzlers and another of jr.mints. He wasn't a fan of the popcorn, but he looooooved sugar. He offered to carry everything, finding it easy to assemble things.
They then went into the theatre; "Now where should we sit..." Ray mumbled, looking around. The theatre was a little crowded, but then again the movie had only been out got a while.

Paige just smiled throught the concession stand ordeal. If he wanted to carry everything she wasn't about to rip it out of his hands and demand he let her help.
"There." She pointed out a row currently half empty. "Less people." She noted outloud and headed for it. Once they were seated she took the popcorn. No way he was holding everything throughout the movie. She wasn't sure if he'd be able to see over it...

Ray followed her to the seats with a nod, and was thankful when she too kthe popcorn. But when he sat down, his side erupted in pain and he jumped back up, hissing through gritted teeth. Dropping his things, his hands went to his side, and he felt the bandages beneath his clothing. He felt his fdace heat up just as quick as his embarassment grew.
"Sorry," he mumbled, blushing and giving Paige a weak smile as he sat down after a moment; "Guess the pain killers are wearin' off!" he laughed lightly, picking up his candy. "Wanna twizzler?" he asked her.

Paige sat wide-eyed staring at him in surprise. "It's fine... Are you okay?" She questioned with raised eyebrows. "Yeah sure..." She muttered and took a candy.
"S'that from the mall?" The teen asked in a concerned tone. "What was wrong with her?" She asked cautiously. She hadn't had the guts to ask anyone else before now.

Ray wasn't quick to reply as he chewed on a twizzler in thought; "A lot of stuff," he said finally, quietly; "She's got dad issues. She was locked away 'cuz her powers are so crazy... I think she's afraid of being happy. Like... she can't handle it like she 'handles' her anger," he paused, shrugging; "Ah well, I just didn't want more bad press. I ain't gonna mess with her again, though," he looked at Paige with a small smile, then looked away, down at the floor.
"Dunno why I bothered, to be honest," he mumbled.
He smiled then; "Hey, wanna have some fun?" he asked, holding up the box of Jr. Mints and shaking them a little. He then quickly looked around the theatre, searching for unsuspecting targets. Someone was going to get a Jr.Mint....
