It had been a long day. Tabby had failed a math test that morning, then got an D on an English paper because she turned it in a whole two days late. Big deal! She wasn't even in class the day it was due. Wasn't there a policy on having so many days to make something up or turn something in if you're not there?
"Stupid mutant-hating teachers." Tabby grumbled, entering the kitchen and heading over to a certain cabinet. She grabbed some flour, chocolate, vanilla, sugar, instant espresso powder, and chocolate chips.
Setting these ingredients on the counter, she walked over to the fridge and took out four eggs and some butter. Putting those on the counter as well, she grabbed a large bowl and placed it beside everything else. Then she searched for the baking pan.
After five minutes, and half the contents of almost every cabinet scattered about later, she had finally found the pan. Smirking in triumph, she placed foil on the pan, then greased it.
Once that was out of the way, she put the butter and chocolate in the metal bowl and placed the bowl in a pan of water on the stove. While the water simmered in the pan, Tabby stirred the chocolate and butter together.
Yes, a box mix would have been a heck of a lot easier, but her mother had always made these kind of brownies for her and they were her favorite.

Once the mixture in the bowl was smooth, Tabby removed it from the heat and set it on the counter. She was about to add in the next ingredients when she realized she hadn't preheated the oven yet.
Cursing under her breath, Tabby walked over to the oven and turned the dial so that it was set to 375 degrees F. Sighing, she went back to where she was working and started adding the sugar, espresso powder, vanilla, salt, and eggs, whisking everything together. Finally she added the flour and chocolate chips, stirring it all together until it was ready.
"I just remembered why I never cook." Tabby muttered, pouring the mixture into the pan before putting it in the oven. She then set the timer on the microwave and sat down at the table, burying her head in her arms as she closed her eyes.

Roberto followed the scent of brownies into the kitchen. He was starving and definitely craving something sweet, something along the lines of...brownies. When he entered he noticed that the chef was a blonde female who he had never talked to before.
"Cook here often?" Roberto asked, taking a seat at the table.

Tabby lifted her head to look at the new arrival. She'd never really talked to Roberto before, only knew him because he joined around the same time she did.
"Nah." Tabby told him, leaning back in her seat. "I'm not one for cooking, usually." She said, then glanced at the microwave; 10 more minutes.

"Really...I never would've guessed," Roberto said, eyeing all the cooking materials lying around the kitchen.
"Soooo, what'cha making?" he asked, feigning curiousity when he was well aware that there was a tray of brownies cooking in the microwave.

"What can I say? When I cook, I go all out." Tabby informed him, laughing as she looked around the kitchen as well, noticing the mess she'd made. She sighed then, knowing she'd have to clean it up later.
Tabby turned her gaze back to Roberto and quirked an eyebrow. "Brownies, hon." She said, grinning; she knew he must've known that already. "My specialty."

"Oooh, really?" Roberto asked smiling. She had seen right through him, but he decided to keep pretending like he had no idea.
"Does that mean you're going to share with me?"

Tabby stared at him for a few minutes in silence, pretending to think.
"Hmm." She brought her hand up and tapped her chin with her finger, looking away. "Wellll, I suppose I could..." Tabby said, then dropped her hand and looked at him again. "For a price." She added, smirking.

Roberto sighed and rolled his eyes. He was beginning to think that this was taking a lot more work than he had planned on doing.
"What price?" he asked reluctantly, wondering what Tabitha could possibly have in mind.

((OOC: Lmao. I was just telling my friend I wanted a brownie.))
"You get to clean up the kitchen!" Tabby remarked, grinning. Sure, she'd made a bit more of a mess than was probably necessary, but it wasn't her fault she didn't know where the baking pans were.
Just then, the timer on the microwave went off and Tabby jumped up, rushing over to the oven and opening it. "Mmm." She mumbled as the aroma hit her full on. She quickly grabbed an oven mit and pulled the pan out of the oven, turning the dial off as she did so.
Tabby set the hot pan down on the stove top, looking back to Roberto expectantly as she took the oven mit off and hopped up onto the counter beside the stove, guarding her precious brownies as they cooled.

Kurt teloported in from the hall when he smelled the brownies. He reached over and grabbed the pan trying to bug Tabitha and burnt his hand. "Ohhoh!" Kurt yelled . He then looked at Tabitha and said "Ah hi. Care yo share?"

Roberto bit his lip, deep in thought, as he pondered Tabitha's offer. He was considering just forgetting about the brownies altogether, but when Tabitha sat them on the counter and the aroma hit him full in the face, he knew the choice was clear.
"Fine...you drive a hard bargain though," Roberto said with a resigned smirk, "So, what were you planning on doing, I mean after wrecking up the kitchen?"

Tabitha glared at Kurt when he attempted to steal her brownies. She reached back and grabbed the closest thing, which happened to be a knife, and held it up to him threateningly.
"Don't touch the brownies!" Tabby hissed dangerously; however, she was laughing on the inside at the look on Kurt's face. She then turned to Roberto, smiling sweetly.
"I had no plans past brownies, actually. So I'm free for the rest of the evening!" She declared, still watching Kurt out of the corner of her eye.

Roberto jumped when Nightcrawler teleported into the kitchen. This was yet another mutant Roberto was yet to be familiar with, but if he was trying to move in on the brownies they were going to have some problems.
"Yeah just take a step back man, those are half mine you know," Roberto said glaring at Kurt. Getting between a man and his brownies is not a smart thing to do, as Kurt was about to find out.

Kurt just looked at the brownies and then with his tail he grabbed The over mit and then the brownie pan and teloported to the other side of the room. "Vhat now?" He told Tabby in a taunting tone.
