Tabby took the concealer and pocketed it, waving as she watched Betsy rush out of the bathroom. Sighing, Tabby slid down the wall to a sitting position. "I need a cigarette." She muttered quietly to herself.
After a few minutes of sitting in silence at which point Tabby was sure Betsy had made it to class, she stood up and headed toward the door. She was about to open it when someone beat her to it, coming in. The girl stared at her for a minute, then turned up her nose and headed into a stall; Tabby merely rolled her eyes and left.
Tabby quietly made her way through the halls and outside. She walked toward the football field, taking a seat under the bleachers and immediately pulling out a cigarette and a lighter. Tabby lit the cigarette and took a drag, leaning her head back against the wall as she closed her eyes.
It was going to be a long day. She still needed to find Quicksilver, and she had promised to go to the store with Paige after school. Tabby groaned, then took another drag from her cigarette. Yes, it was definitely going to be a long day.

Ray was not having an easy time avoiding History class. Not only was it boring, but the teacher took delight in keeping his mutant students on their toes by constantly asking them to answer question, give examples, and all the other mandatory stuff the other students were capable of. When he finally got the chance, Ray excused himself, and promptly left the school with no intent on going back.
He was making his way around the football feild, when he saw someone standing beneath the bleachers at "his" usual spot. But Ray knew there were three other people who went there, Nate, some chick from his English class, and of course, good ole Tabby.
"Got a light?" Ray asked with a light laugh as he made his way under the bleachers, though his hands were in his pockets and he didn't have any cigarettes on him. He'd stashed the last few he had in his bag for Kentucky, just in case.

Tabby glanced up as Ray joined her and she gave him a slight smile, then rolled her eyes. She tossed him her lighter, then handed him a cigarette figuring he didn't have any considering he said he was going to stop.
"You know, we've gotta stop meeting this way." Tabby joked before taking another drag, silently wondering if he'd heard about the fight she was in earlier.

Ray caught the clighter and cigarette, checking to make sure it was just them; "Yeah, we should," he said as he balanced the cigarette between his lips, lit it, then took a long drag before tossing the lighter back to her. He was silent as he smoked; it'd been a couple days and Ray had been getting desperate for a smoke as of late.
"Dude, I'm nervous as hell," he suddenly blurted; "About going with Paige to Kentucky. Should I be?"

Tabby caught the lighter and pocketed it, then turned back to Ray. "You're going to Kentucky?" She asked, a little surprised.
Tabby smoked in silence for a minute thinking before she answered him. "I guess. I mean, you have every right to be nervous. You'll be meeting her family, right?" She asked, glancing at him. "I know I'd be nervous meeting my boyfriend's family." Tabby muttered, then laughed at what she just insinuated.

"Yeah," Ray said, taking a drag at the thought, then he laughed at what she said; "Technically you already have, right?" he asked, smiling as he sat down, leaning against a metal pole; "But, my only worry is I won't impress her mom... that doesn't sound stupid, does it?" he added quickly, looking at her.

Tabby shrugged, taking another drag and looking away. "Does it really matter?" She asked quietly, then sighed. "Nah, it doesn't sound stupid. And I'm sure you'll be fine, Ray." Tabby said, sitting down beside him; she nudged him, smirking. "You worry too much."

Ray shrugged; "I don't care about impressing her brothers," he said; "But... I dunno, I always respect decent moms for some reason. Like, I respect Ororo mostly because she finds the time to care about all of us, look out for us, ya know? And from what I've heard, Paige's mom does that. And, she does it on her own, too, so I think that I should really try to do right by her atleast..." his voice trailed off, lungs flling with smoke as he thought...
"Ya think I worry a lot?" he asked; "I didn't used to," he mused, then he shrugged. "Ah well..."

Tabby smiled, listening to him. "I'm sure she'll love you." She said, taking another drag and looking away again.
"Not a lot, just more so lately." Tabby told him shrugging as she leaned her head back against the wall she was leaning against. The bell indicating 2nd period was over rang out and Tabby groaned. "I'm not goin' to class." She muttered, bringing her cigarette back up to her mouth.

Ray shrugged at her comment, then winced as the bell rang; "To hell if they think I'm goin' back," he muttered as he nursed his cancer stick, exhaling and sending a perfect "smoke donut" into the air.
"Haha, haven't lost my touch yet," he said smugly as he watched it dissapear.

Tabby grinned, watching it as well. "Nice." She said, putting her own out in the dirt beside her. Tabitha then pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs, resting her chin on the top of her knees.
"You got detention today?" She asked, turning her head to look at him.

Ray shrugged; "Yeah, prolly," he said, smirking as he snuffed out his cigarette. He really did need to quit, afterall. "I think I've accumulated around ten in the past few weeks," he mused, "But ah well," he shrugged again; "I've gone to detention once, and decided it felt too much like the Institute," he laughed lightly at that, then he was quiet.
"Which is sorta bogus, if you think about it. Pfff, I'm gonna do somethin' stupid if things don't lighten up around here..."

"Yeah, it is." Tabby agreed, laughing as well; then she quirked an eyebrow. "Stupid as in what? Cause I'm all for blowing up the school." She said, smirking. "Staring with Kelly's office."

Ray shrugged, looking at the building as he analyzed it; "Well first," he said; "I'm trashin' that stupid eagle. I hate that bronze piece of crap. 'Symbol of freedom' I disagree, those hypocrites..." he muttered, eyes darkening.
"And then I'm forking the football field. Just cuz I can."

Tabby snorted. "Sounds like a plan to me." She muttered, glaring at the school as a few students hurried off to class as the late bell rang.
