"Ahn here Ah thought consortin' with the enemy was bad," murmured Rogue studying Ray and Tabitha carefully. "If Scott hasn't killed ya yet, Jean most definitely will."
Rogue shook her head. "Polkadots? Oh boy...when the adults find out 'bout that there's gonna be a civil war back at the mansion. Ah'm startin' ta miss livin' with Mystique now--she wasn't 'round whenever Ah did somethin' stupid...crazy...illegal."

Ray gave her a quizzical look; "Civil War?" he asked in a low voice. "Come on, it's not like we blew it up!" he said defensively.

"Aw now Roguey, I wouldn't go that far." Tabby said, putting her nail file away and turning in her chair so that her feet were now on the ground as she faced the other two.
"Anyway, we're innocent until proven guilty." Boom Boom exclaimed, crossing her arms in front of her chest and looking from Rogue to Ray and back again; she sighing. "We're dead, aren't we?"

"Tell that ta Jean...ahn then try tellin' Scott his car drove inta the mall by accident. When one of 'em is upset, the other one is upset. That's why they're together--they get all worked up when somethin' happens ta 'em ahn then both are pissed. Or Logan will find out ahn make ya actually fix the cars...which might not be too bad," replied Rogue with a shrug. She normally stayed out of everyone's business. It wasn't her problem.
"Ahn yeah, Ah think it's safe ta say you're dead."

Ray was still trying to figure out the entire "Civil War" theory, his brain having a hard time of things wrapping around the concept. Did she mean X-Men versus the Recruits? Recruits versus everyone in general? He shrugged it off as a headache began to form.
"Yeah well you'll probably luck out so long as you weren't 'consorting with the enemy'," Ray said in a dumb voice, forming quotations with his fingers. He rolled his eyes then, muttering; "Load of bull that is..."

Tabby sighed and looked out the window for a few minutes, thinking. She turned back around after Ray spoke, though, confused. "What?"

Ray clarified, "I mean, look at this way," he said, turning to face her; "Rogue didn't vandalize a car: she just skipped class. She could come up with some excuse and she'll be fine. The only way she could be garunteed getting caught would be if someone knew what she'd been up to," he sighed; "But us? We planted our own evidence. We're screwed either way," he finished, airily, like it was just any other humdrum event you would talk about over dinner.

"'Sides Kelly catchin' the two of ya outside--does anyone else know what ya did ta Jean's car? Maybe they'll think Duncan ahn his friends messed it up...no one may actually find out what ya did," pointed out Rogue, hoping against hope no one knew where she had actually been...or seen her. She wasn't sure she could explain it even to herself.

"Yeah, I guess." Tabby said to Ray's statement, putting her arms on her desk and resting her head on top of them. "Hmm...we could tell them Rogue was ditching to hang out with a certain Cajun." Boom Boom suggested, grinning evilly as she glanced at Rogue. "But I doubt that'd help us any." Besides, Rogue's trying to help us out; it's probably not wise to make the only person on our side angry.
Tabby groaned, sitting up again and staring at her desk."Maybe I should just start packing now. It's probably only a matter of time before Xavier kicks me out, anyway."
((OOC: Ugh. Missed Rogue's post. Lol.))

Ray shrugged; "We weren't near this place most of the day," he said, referring to the school with disdain. "Don't worry, Tabs, I'll taked the blame," he said waving the subject off, thinking that would help lessen her worry. It had been his idea afterall.
Ah well, he could survive the trouble if he got caught. It was nothing new, and the adults at the institute couldn't kill him over it.
Jean could fry his brain though, if she wanted. But Ray had taken that chance.

"Oh, I don't care." Tabby said, waving off the idea. "Besides, it might be a bit hard to say I had no part in it when I'm covered in ready whip."

Ray blinked, just now noticing; "haha!" he said, laughing before he could stop himself. The teacher gave him a stern look, and he stopped himself from shooting a look right back. He sighed, shoulders slack for a moment; "My head smells like peanuts," he grumbled sadly, "At least your head smells good."

Rogue snorted. "It'll take a lot more than messin' up a couple of cars ta get Xavier ta kick ya out, Tabs. The guy lives for second chances...and thirds...and fourths. Heck, the man let Lance try out for the team, remember? Xavier might give ya the benefit of the doubt...Logan ohn the other hand will be harder ta convince. Ah'd recommend a shower beforehand--he cahn smell anythin' ohn ya if ya aren't careful."
Then she wrinkled her nose as she eyed Ray's hair. "Maybe ya should make it three showers."

"That's not the only thing I'm worried about." Tabby mumbled, leaning her head on her hands again and sending a glance toward Ray. She knew that Xavier knew about what happened the other night when she didn't come home; she was just waiting for the inevitable.
"And I like peanuts!" She defended, while trying not to laugh.

Ray laughed quietly; "I'm just glad there isn't a circus around," he mused, then he registered Tabby's glance.
He had covered for her, having copped a good excuse he couldn't recollect at the moment. It had something to do with an out-of-town concert... or something along that lines. The Professor had arched his eyebrow at Ray's cool reason, but Ray decided that it had bee ngood enough.
Still, the worst Tabby could get was a lecture, and having to watch stupid health videos about the dangers of drinking.
