"Who?" Roberto asked very politely, knowing very well who this someone was. He didn't want her to know that though, he wanted to hear it straight from her.
They were off the mansion grounds by now, and were walking down the sidewalk. Roberto hoped he was going the right way. Like he said before, he doesn't know where anything is is New York. The doubt left his mind when he saw the ice cream shop in the distance. So he did know after all.

Amara hesitated for a moment and then decided that he'd find out anyways. "John..." she said slowly with a small nod. She knew he wasn't gonna be the happiest person in the world with the news but it was better he knew.

"I figured," Roberto said casually. If he was going to tell her what he had heard it might as well be now.
"I saw you two, that day on the street," he admitted. He sort of expected her to get mad at him, but technically he hadn't been spying. He had just wanted them to replace the candy he had lost due to their firey cyclone of death, and he just happened to pick up on their conversation.

Amara tilted her head to the side and furrowed an eye brow. " You did?" she said with a small laugh. It wasn't an amused laugh... it was more of a nervous laugh. "... I saw you but... You didn't tell the professor did you?"
If the Prof found out she'd be in big trouble. No telling what Logan or someone might say. She'd be in big trouble for a veeeeeeeery long time.

Roberto looked at her with a confused expression, "Why would I tell the professor? It's none of my business."
Ice cream was staring to sound really good right now, and Roberto wondered how much longer it would take before they got there.

She shrugged. "I dunno. I just thought either you or X mgiht have... Thank god you didn't thugh..." She looked around and finally spotted the ice cream place. "Hey! Look! Ice cream!" she pointed out and grabbed his hand and began running.

Roberto didn't understand why all girls found it necessary to drag him by the arm everywhere, but he didn't protest when Amara pulled him towards the ice cream shop. When they reached the door he held it open for her, and waited for her to go inside.
"Know what you're gonna get?" he asked with a smile.

Amara walked through the door and let go of his hand and looked at the flavors tapping her right index finger on her chin. "I dunno... It all looks good to me right now..." Anything with sugar in it was just fine with her.

"Ok, I'll go first then," Roberto stepped up to the counter and gave the cashier what he considered a friendly smile.
"I'll have a big a** waffle cone, and I want chocolate with lots of sprinkles, and any kinda candy you got," he said in the most polite voice he could manage.

Amar walked up next to him and smirked. He'd just sworn to the cashier and she thought it was just hilarious. "I'll have a large sugar cone. And make it a twist with chocolate sprinkles, please." She tried to fight back a laugh on the last bit and just grinned.

The cashier presented their cones with an agitated frown, and after Roberto paid her he motioned to some tables for them to sit at.
"Sooo, what have you been up to?" Roberto asked when they had both sat down. It was extremely hot outside, so it wasn't long before Roberto noticed his ice cream melting. He dived in, tongue outstretched to stop one of the trickles of chocolate from dripping onto his hand.

"I wonder what Tabby's doing right now..." she said sitting at the table and licking her ice cream. Tabby was a fun subject to think about because you never kow quite what she was doing... she could be doing ANYTHING.

"No clue," Roberto answered, making a slurping sound as licked up one pesky drip of ice cream that had gotten incredibly close to getting on his hand.
"Do you know why she left?" he asked, still curious why Tabitha had made the decision to randomly bail on everyone in the Institute.

Amara shrugged and shook her head a little as she took a lick of her ice cream. "Something about... she never really fit in at the institute. She wasn't happy..." she propped her elbow up on the table and placed the side of her head in her hand and looked off to the side.

"Psh...doesn't she know that the whole reason we're at the Institute to be there for each other? That's somethin' I don't get about her," Roberto answered as he finished of the last of his ice cream, "'Sides, you were really close with her weren't you?"
