It was a late Saturday afternoon and Tabby and Amara were driving around town, looking for something to do. Tabby had borrowed Lance's jeep...again; and he wasn't due to start looking for her for a few more hours, if he even bothered, that was.
Tabby turned a corner and drove into a rather dodgy part of town. There were very few people on the streets and it just really didn't look like a place you wanted to be in.
"Hmm, I think I may have taken a wrong turn somewhere." Tabby said, glancing over at Amara with an innocent look on her face.
After a few minutes, they finally made it back onto the main road; only, there was a car following them. Tabby checked her rearview then sent another glance Amara's way.
"Don't look now, but we've got company." She said, before smirking. "You might wanna hold on." Tabby informed her, right before hitting the gas.

Amara now starting to rethink the trip had thoguhts about jumping out of the jeep. She was clutching to her seat. It was a wonder how she wasn't used to this by now...
Amara clenched her teath and closed one eye as if she could not bear to watch. She was afraid they were gonna hit a brick wall.

They suddenly skidded around a corner, going probably twenty or so over what the speed limit actually was. Tabby laughed, tossing a bomb out the window at the car behind them. It hit their tire and they screeched to a halt.
"That'll teach those no good..." Tabby trailed off, noticing the people who got out of the car were nuns. "Aw crap." She muttered under her breath. "Well, that's not good." She laughed.
Tabby slowed back down to the speed limit and drove toward the outskirts of town. There was a diner and gas station there and she was hungry.
"Wanna grab a bite to eat?" She asked her companion, not waiting for an answer as she turned onto the road that led to the diner.

When they stopped Amara hopped out of the car with a scared expression on her face. "Maybe... just a soda..."
She couldn't believe they were ebing tailed by nuns...

Tabby shrugged, turning the jeep off and getting out as well. She turned to Amara, grinning. "You ok, Amara?" She asked, trying not to laugh at the look on her face.
"Come on, you'll love this place. They have the best pie ever." Tabby said, leading Amara over to the small diner.
Upon entering, they took a seat at one of the booths. There was an elderly couple in one of the other booths, a suspicious looking guy at the bar who was wearing a hat and had his head buried in a newspaper, and another person off at a separate table.
Tabby whistled and looked over at Amara. "Sad thing is, this is actually one of their better days."

"Yeh, I'm okey. I'm not dead, so that's a good sign", she said with a laugh.
Amara made a squeaky noise at the sound of the word 'Pie'. Pie was also a good word. "They must be pretty bored people", she said with a nod and walked over to the counter.

Tabby looked offended. "Hey! I'm not that bad of a driver." The she smirked. "Yeah, they are pretty boring, aren't they? Want me to liven the place up a bit?"
But before Amara got the chance to answer, a young girl, probably around their age, maybe a little older came to take their orders. She gave them a bored look as she pulled out a notepad and a pen. "What'll it be?"
Tabby rolled her eyes, then ordered a slice of coconut cream pie. The waitress scribbled something down then turned to Amara. "And you?"

"I'll have the same" she said with a nod and looked around the room and tapped her fingers against her cheek.
Her butt was still sore from rollerblading the other day and began to shift in her seat.

Tabby watched the waitress leave before turning her attention back to Amara, who was being awfully quiet. She cocked her head to the side and studied her for a minute, not really sure what was wrong.
"Sooooooo...how are things?" Tabby asked conversationally, resting her elbow on the table and leaning her head on her hand; she stared at her expectantly.

"Boring... Tired... And bruised..." She said spreading her torso over the counter top and laying her head down. She had welts on her arms and legs from an acrorn fight with some friends. It hurt like heck...
"How have things been with you?" She said turning her head over on it's side to look at her friend.

"Bruised?" Tabby questioned, quirking an eyebrow and grinning; she just shrugged when Amara asked her the same question.
"Oh, you know...some destruction here, some damage there." She paused, watching as someone else came in, then turned her attention back to Amara. "All in all, I'm gonna have to say it's been a good week." She laughed, then rolled her eyes when the elderly couple gave them dirty looks.

Not long after, their waitress brought them their pies. Smiling happily, Tabby grabbed her fork and dug in.
"Yum. Love this stuff." Tabby said, after swallowing; then glanced over at Amara. "So? Am I right?" She asked, watching as Amara took a bite. "Do they not have the best pie, or what?"

Amara nodded and grinned then put some whip cream on her finger ans smeared it on Tabby's nose. "you look good as a clown!"

Tabby narrowed her eyes, then smirked. "Do I?" She asked, holding her spoon up and admiring herself.
Tabitha laughed and dipped her spoon on top of her own pie, getting a little bit of whip cream on it before holding it back with her other hand, then flicking it at Amara in retaliation.

Amara laughed and watched the spoon and flinched.
